Our Purposes

In order to fulfill our mission, Valley Christian Church is committed to five purposes that come from three great Bible passages:

GREAT COMMISSION
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
Purpose #1: Evangelism – Bringing the message of salvation to the lost.

Purpose #2: Discipleship – Teaching people to follow Christ.

GREAT COMMANDMENT
Jesus said, "If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me" (Matthew 16:24)
Purpose #3: Lifestyle – Passionately expressing your love and devotion to God.

GREAT COMMUNITY
Jesus said, "Everyone will know you are My disciples if you love one another."  So, they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42-47)
Purpose #4: Service – Selflessly giving to others what God has given to us.

Purpose #5: Community – Authentically seeking to accept and love one another as Christ accepts and loves us.
