Word from the Pastor

I’ve finally found justification for every man who says, “I don’t need a map; I’ll just follow my nose.” We’re just going by faith, and we have a faith mentor. His name is Abraham, and the Bible says, “Now the Lord had said to Abram, “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him”
Did you notice? Abraham went outnot knowing where he was headed. All he knew was that he was being obedient; he was living by faith.
Before I went on vacation, I went on line to get a detailed map of everywhere I was going, because I needed to know exactly where I was going and how to get there. But when God called Abraham, He didn’t give him a map. He didn’t even tell him where he was going. He just said, Get going and I’ll lead you.”
I think a lot of us get hung up in following God’s will for our lives, because we don’t start moving until we think we know exactly what God’s plans for us are. But that’s kind of like trying to steer a parked car. We know we can’t do it, but we insist on staying parked until we know exactly where we’re going and how long it will take to get there.
We need to follow in the footsteps of Abraham’s obedient faith by stepping out and following God’s call on our lives even if we don’t have a map.
